Back in Rotherham yet a-f**kin'-gain - robert, 30/08/2005, 14:57

That's me here, and I'm incredibly tired - struggling to keep my eyes open in fact... I was up at 04:00 this morning, taxi arrived bang on 05:15 and I was at Inverness Airport by 05:30. I don't understand why such an early taxi was insisted - the others had later taxies and didn't arrive till the back of 6, and even then we had a 45 minute wait until the flight. The flight was as expected, not very eventful. I left my PC encoding Antitrust into Xvid with the correct resolution and frame rate required for playback on my iriver H320. It was surprisingly alright watching a movie on it, I had only ever converted small videos to watch on it before, never a full movie. My breakfast consisted of a quarter pounder with cheese meal from McDonald's from a service station not far south of Sheffield. I'd not been to a McDonald's for a long time and realised why - they're crap. Burger King definately do a much better job all round. This trip is pretty shit, I'm doing Application Discovery which I can't stand or am any good at - I don't have the people skills. On the whole I'm incredibly tired, bored and pissed off.

Perhaps the week will improve...

Perhaps if I had a car it wouldn't be so bad. One day...

Once again, it's a bank holiday so I'm sitting in work rather bored, listening to music and generally doing not a lot. At least I'm getting paid for it, I suppose. I wish this damn rollout would just happen. I'm getting rather bored and fed up in Tier 1. Oh well, what can you do?

Tomorrow I'm off to Rotherham yet again - the joy! At first it was a novelty but really it's just a pain in the ass doing a working week from a hotel. I'm not comfortable down there - I don't feel I'm best suited for the task so if they want me down again next week, they can forget it. This time round we're in a different hotel, a better one, so it could be worse. Also, there's a fellow Scotsman going to be there this time so it may not be so bad (Spending a week with Polish people isn't much fun).

I might go to Edinburgh next weekend, for a piss up, basically. A few of the old ...
