I can't believe all the fuss that was made over such a petty thing. The thing in question being an IRC quote on the m33p.be quote databse. This is the quote in question.The OP and his fellow quoted got all worked up that the time stamp had been removed. The time stamp was removed, just like on bash.org, to clean up the quote. The timestamp, I argue, was unnecessary.
The OP and his pal argue that without the timestamp you can't tell that the quote was only over a few minutes. I think this is total bullshit as when reading through the quote it's apparent it happened all at once, there's nothing to suggest otherwise.
A timestamp might be useful if events had occured over a longer period of time, and this was significant to the quote. In this situation I can't see how it's possibly needed, it doesn't make the quote any less humerous and indeed has had good reactions so far.
If anyone wants to comment on this rather pathetic matter which has irritated me enough to write about, please feel free to contact me...
