1st BBQ of 2006 - robert, 22/04/2006, 23:39

Last night saw us having the first BBQ of 2006, a true sign of summer. We had it on Dores beach (of course) and it was a very good night. Thanks to Cuth who put his foot down and got everyone together, 5 cars worth of people attended. We all gathered at Tesco 24 at about 7 and went for a big shop. We filled a trolley with burgers, sausages, bacon, soft drinks, beer, sweets, crisps - you name it - and headed to the checkout. It came to about £50 in total which isn't bad considering the huge amount we bought. Everyone put in £5 to cover food and fuel costs for the drivers, this worked well.
We headed to Dores eventually and once there, walked along the beach to the same spot a few of us had a BBQ the
year before. The bags were dropped, the BBQs set up and lit and firewood was gathered. While the BBQs were heating up, half the group went to play football in the nearby field. The fire was lit but wasn't going to well until some drunk randoms came and assisted with a container of something flammable. They were camping overnight and had already got themselves wet by the time we left. Soon there was food on the go and the others were called back. Ok so it's all change again. Besides the new domain, this is the first change to the design since I first sat down and created the
original sitting in the flat in London towards the end of 2004. I felt a change was needed. The change, as those who are familiar with my site will see, isn't dramatic - the basic layout and fonts are the same pretty much. There's still a few issues I need to fix however; one being that the outer border doesn't expand with the left hand menu, resulting in shorter pages having the left menu spilling over the bottom. Simon seems to have some ideas about how to overcome this so I might have a stab later. It took me long enough scratching my head over CSS to get it to work properly in all browsers as it is.
I could do with being a bit less tired. Every night I was up late over the easter long weekend, going to sleep about 4 or so and waking up about lunch time. This was fine until today when I had to get up at 06:30 as naturally I couldn't get to sleep till about 4. Oh well, I bought a can of Irn Bru 32 a while ago and it's been sitting on my desk unopened, think I might need it. The weekend was spent mainly chilling out and not doing an awful lot.
