Changes - robert, 18/05/2005, 23:24
Work is getting interesting. The company we support are rolling out new standard-build PCs throughout all the hubs over the next while. I'm part of the team who will initially support them. Today we found out that the rollout will be put off for two weeks. This is fantastic for us as we're having to take the shit initially, learn what works and what doesn't, iron out all the bugs, wade through the masses of documentation we have/are creating and put it all together for training the rest of the desk! There's other changes happening - like today we shuffled around, our team is now all grouped together. I am now on a shit exposed desk but oh well you can't have everything eh? This week I have been in rather tedious training all day covering stuff we all mostly know, while the remaining lot left on the desk are trying and understandably failing to keep up with the calls and keep the grade of service up. My new role gives me more 2nd Line functions which is great. I still take calls but when I can I do 2nd Line stuff. I've also changed shift, I now start and finish and hour later - 09:00 to 17:30 as opposed to 08:00 to 16:30, more stuff to get used to.Don't you just hate relationships? I had been getting to know this guy who shared interests and was just a great guy. We were getting on great and it all ...
