The so-called 60cm dish turned out to be 90cm! While a dish this size is great for receiving international transmitions it certainly is not great for indoor reception! There's pictures of it here in the gallery. I'll see if any of the guys in the local Amateur Radio Club have a 60cm or similar spare, if not I'll have to hunt around the city a bit. I have a box now, just need an indoor friendly dish!In other news I have a really crappy cold, which sucks... I felt it coming on towards the end of the week and had to leave work on friday as I just simply couldn't concentrate on anything, which is no use in my job as it requires having to listen to people and bash down what they're saying and find a solution...

I spoke to Alasdair's neighbour, who contacted the guy who actually owns the house, and I have been given the go ahead to remove the 60cm dish from the house whenever I want! W00t! I'm also getting a Panasonic Sky box off another friend of mine which will do for now. I may invest in a DreamBox some time in the future, as Sky boxes are obviously only meant for use on Sky so they have limited functionality on anything other than Astra2 at 28.2E. Oh, and as an added bonus, DreamBoxes are Linux powered!...powered by coranto
