Yesterday I voted for the first time. The polling station is basically across the road so I had no excuse! I, as with nearly everyone I know in Scotland voted for Lib Dem. This clearly reflects on the map. I aquired a thermal printer for £5 off eBay. It's currently sitting outputting the syslog from my FreeBSD box. This is why you should NOT include SSHd! I came back to find a pile of paper behind my switch!Today I picked up a call which made me very pleased. It was a chance to get back at the 2nd Line support at head office of the company we support. They can be rather bitchy at times, just because they're in London supporting the head office, they think they're the best. The call was regarding a problem some manager was having playing DVDs on his laptop - they wouldn't. The call history stated the video was scrambled and pink, and the audio was jittering. They insisted this was a hardware fault and passed the call back up to the Desk where someone assigned it to the 3rd party hardware team. They of course threw it back saying it was a software problem - surely plainly obvious by the fact the user could read data off discs fine. They mucked about, swapped the drive into another machine where it worked fine. They threw it back to the Desk once again asking it be put to the hardware team. This is when ...
